The Vancouver Chinese Evangelical Free Church (VCEFC) was started in 1975 in answer to prayers and support of former members of the Hong Kong Evangelical Free Churches. The first Chinese Speaking Sunday (CSC) worship was held on March 2, 1975 at the Nanaimo location. VCEFC was accepted as a member church by the Evangelical Free Church of Canada in November 1975.
The English Speaking Congregation (ESC) of the Church started their first Sunday worship in fall of 1978. Children of CSC members composed the initial membership of the ESC. Today the ESC has grown to an average Sunday worship average attendance of 156 members and Sunday School participation of over 220 ranging from preschoolers to young adults.
Over the past years, the Church has planted three daughter churches in the suburbs of Richmond, Burnaby and Port Coquitlam.
